Project Management CeTIM – Center for Technology and Innovation Management is the independent research organisation at the University BW Munich and at the Rotterdam School of Management, focusing on technology and innovation management. CeTIM is a non-profit organization, committed to free scientific research and highest international academic standards. In the tradition of Wilhem Humboldt CeTIM organizes for academic excellence with efficient project management support that enables free researchers to thrive on today’s prevailing conditions for scientific research in international, interdisciplinary and collaborative settings. The mission of the CeTIM Project Management Office is to support CeTIM researchers in achieving their targets and optimize their personnel performance. We give researchers essential support and coaching through all stages of a research project from idea generation and proposal formulation, the configuration of a team, fund raising, planning and co-ordination of the work and result delivery. The project management office supports planning and management processes, legal and financial administration of efficient collaboration within the organisation and with partners. CeTIM has considerable experience of co-ordinating large, multi-country projects and facilitating networking and information exchange between organisations in different countries. CeTIM Project Management operations are based on the standard internal procedures that stand for guaranteed high quality of results of the projects. Our standard procedures allow us to incorporate the requirements of different sponsors and funding bodies and to fulfil their demand for quality, reporting, legal and financial issues. Some recent projects: BAP (Business architect, IST-1999-10878) 15 participants from 5 countries, budget of 4 million Euros. The overall objective of the Business Architect Project is to develop, implement and test a suite of management services and supporting software tools. The project provides business with a high quality integrated and modular service package for the development of new business ventures. The Business Architect Project had developed an integrated suite of solutions to support these three tasks.
Genesis (Global Enterprise Network Support for the Innovation Process, IST 1999-20521) The Genesis Consortium was comprised of two industrial user companies Intracom, Greece and Siemens, Switzerland, the research institute CeTIM, and the dissemination partner ADEPA, France, budget of 740,000 Euro. The BAP project provided managers with applied methods and tools for developing and deploying process engineering to strategic plans and goals. To complement this approach, the Genesis project was started in order to complement process engineering by process controlling for an integrated approach to what we refer to continuous process management as a major requirement for the evolution of Dynamic Capabilities. VDA (Virtual Destination Application, IST-1999-20937) budget of 800,000 Euro. The VDA concept provides a standardized web-based information system for travellers and tourists. For fulfilling the task of presenting the desired information most impressively and easily remembered, this system basically consists of a combination of a 3D-portal and an information screen of the destination. VDA services consist of Bird View Map (BVM), shows a bird-perspective of the picked out area/city from graceless variable height over ground. Virtual Round Trip (VRT) enables the tourist to move virtually free in the area/city. Hotel Planning Method (HPM) is an effective planning-method for setting up the first draft frame works and structure of the individual and however simultaneously standardized business-presentation. VDA project has been starting the first steps of implementation on creating a 3-D model of the inner cities of Rothenburg ob der Tabuer (Germany)(Rothenburg is relatively small, compact area, similar to a city, many day tourist, culture and history, located in Bayern close to metropoles, relatively central location, small tourist office, and technology laggard) and Davos. VE-FORUM (IST-1-507469-SSA) 14 participants, budget of 1.3 million Euros. The objective of VE-Forum is to provide an integrating portal for all researchers and professionals in the domain of networked businesses and governments in Europe and internationally. It shall give easy access to past and future results in the domain and support communication and collaboration as a virtual community. As such, VE-Forum complements NoEs, IPs, and other projects and promotes Europe’s global visibility in the field. The portal will have three main components:
